USA16WMayPolandSBFoshan (Guangdong), China – The NetScouts Basketball USA All-Stars pulled out a second straight 13-point (72-59) victory against a scrappy Polish team at the Lingnan Minzhu Pearl Gymnasium in Foshan, China.
The game was similar to last night’s contest against New Zealand. The USA All-Stars got off to a blazing start as the Polish team struggled with the speed and athleticism of the Americans. Thanks to a stifling trap zone, Poland was limited to just nine points in the first quarter and 23 total points in the first half. Leading the attack in the first half for the USA was an array of post players including Jamee Swan of Colorado, Toni Smith of Fresno State, Jordan Sullivan of Montana and Morgan Bailey of BYU. These four post players would go on to combine for 40 points.
USA16WMayPoland1Poland used some second chance opportunities and crafty passing to keep the game within reach of the USA in the second half.. Zhane Dikes came up with five steals at half court in the second half and helped turn those steals into buckets to keep the Americans on top. Dikes would end up with 10 points off on 3-of-5 shooting as she dished out seven assists. Tear’a Laudermill would again lead the USA along with Jamee Swan – each with 14 points.
The USA All-Stars will face host China in a tough test to end play here in Foshan.
